Welcome back everyone!
Hope you all have had a fun filled summer and have had plenty of time to relax.
As most of you know, I will be going on maternity after the half term but I'm looking forward to working hard and creating happy memories with you all over the next 7 weeks. Mrs Wilson will cover me while I'm off and shes very excited about getting to know you as well.
Lastly, if you have any concerns or queries, please don't hesitate to come and see me.
Thank you, Mrs Martin.
Congratulations to all the Year 2 children who've now finished their SATs. Each and every one of you tried your best and I'm very proud of you all. Well done!

This half term children have enjoyed having Alison Litherland from Sustrans in to help the children improve their cycling skills. As a reward for their hard work and for being the class where the most children cycled to school over a six week period, Year 2 enjoyed a bike ride to Bill Quay Farm.

I hope you have all had a lovely summer and are feeling rested and ready to learn! Miss McIvor and I have been busy planning lots of exciting lessons so please have a look at the planning below to see what we will be learning in each subject.
Note for parents
If you have any questions or concerns, please pop in to see me.
This term in Year 2 we will be learning all about The Great Fire of London. Do you know any facts that you could share with your children?
Things to Remember.....
P.E is on Tuesday and Wednesday. Please don’t forget your P.E kits.
Children will bring home spellings every Friday to learn for the test on the following Friday. If your child gets 8/10 or more correct, they will move on to the next list. If not, they will have the same spellings for the following week.
Reading is really important in Year 2 and we will be focusing on this a lot throughout the year so please don’t forget to bring in your book bags on a Tuesday and Friday.
Keep a look out in the cloakroom for our book worm display. If you bring your book bag back every week you will receive a sticker and at the end of term if you have 12 or more you will get a surprise!
If you have any concerns about your child throughout the year, please feel free to come and speak to me after school.
