Welcome to The Drive Community Primary School

Welcome from the Headteacher

A very warm welcome to The Drive Community Primary School.

At The Drive, we are incredibly proud of our school and the community we serve. We are a growing school, currently with 216 children on roll, and we continue to expand as more families choose us for our nurturing, inclusive and ambitious approach to education. We are delighted to offer 2-year-old provision, alongside our Early Years and primary phases, and we look forward to developing this further in the future.

Together We Learn and Grow

Our school motto, “Together We Learn and Grow,” underpins everything we do. We believe that every child deserves to feel safe, valued and inspired, and that strong relationships are at the heart of successful learning.

A Nurturing, Inclusive Environment

At The Drive, we are deeply committed to supporting children’s mental health and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. We understand that children learn best when they feel secure, understood and emotionally supported.

Our staff are trained to recognise and respond to children’s needs with care and expertise. Through a nurturing approach, targeted support and strong pastoral systems, we ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive both personally and academically.

Children at our school often tell us:

  • “The teachers help me when I feel worried.”
  • “I can talk to someone if I’m upset.”
  • “Everyone makes you feel welcome.”
  • “It feels like a family here.”

A Strong Sense of Belonging

We are proud to be a school where every child belongs. Inclusion is not just a principle—it is lived every day in our classrooms, playgrounds and wider school life.

Our children feel confident, supported and valued:

  • “No one gets left behind at our school.”
  • “People listen to me.”
  • “I feel proud to be part of The Drive.”

We ensure that every child has a voice. Pupil voice is central to how we shape our school, and we actively listen to children’s ideas, concerns and suggestions.

A School at the Heart of the Community

The Drive is a community school at its core. We work closely with families and external partners to ensure every child and family receives the support they need.

We believe in strong, open relationships—and as we often say, our door is always open. Whether families need advice, reassurance or practical support, we are here for them.

Beyond the Classroom

We offer a range of opportunities to enrich children’s experiences, including:

  • Breakfast Club to give children a calm, positive start to the day
  • After-school provision with an active and nurturing approach
  • A focus on wellbeing, play and positive relationships throughout the school day
  • Leadership programmes and roles
  • Community Projects
  • Beyond the curriculum sporting events

What Ofsted Said

We are proud of the recognition from our most recent Ofsted inspection (November 2022), which highlighted the strengths of our school community. Inspectors noted that:

  • “Pupils feel safe and well cared for.”
  • “Relationships between staff and pupils are warm and supportive.”
  • “Leaders prioritise pupils’ personal development and well-being.”
  • “Pupils are happy and enjoy coming to school.”

These comments reflect what we see and hear every day.

Looking Ahead

As our school continues to grow, we remain committed to providing a high-quality education within a nurturing and inclusive environment. We are excited about the future of The Drive and the opportunities ahead for our children, families and staff.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our school. If you would like to visit, please do get in touch—we would be delighted to welcome you.
