At our school, we believe that every child has the potential to be a leader. We provide a range of opportunities for children to take responsibility, share their ideas and play an active role in making our school and wider community an even better place.

Our pupil leaders are positive role models who develop important skills such as confidence, communication, teamwork, responsibility and decision-making. They are encouraged to listen to others, represent the views of their peers and take pride in the contribution they make to school life.

Children can take on a variety of leadership roles across school, including:

🗣️ School Council

Our School Council gives children a voice in the life of our school. Representatives listen to the views and ideas of their classmates, discuss issues that are important to our pupils and help to influence positive changes across school.

📚 School Librarians

Our School Librarians help to care for and organise our library and promote a love of reading across school. They support other children in choosing books and help to make our library a welcoming and enjoyable place for everyone.

🌱 Eco Warriors

Our Eco Warriors encourage everyone to think carefully about how we look after our environment. They help to promote sustainability, reduce waste and encourage our school community to make environmentally responsible choices.

🌍 Young Interpreters

Our Young Interpreters play an important role in helping children who are new to English feel welcomed and included. They provide friendship and support, helping new pupils to settle into school life and feel part of our community.

⭐ Attendance Team

Our pupil Attendance Team helps to promote the importance of coming to school regularly and on time. They encourage their peers to develop positive attitudes towards attendance, help to celebrate good and improving attendance and share ideas about how we can make every school day count.

Through this role, children develop their communication and leadership skills while helping to promote the message that being in school gives us the best opportunity to learn, achieve and be part of our school community.

Pupil leadership is about much more than having a title or wearing a badge. We want our children to understand that leadership is about making a positive contribution, taking responsibility and helping others.

Through our different leadership opportunities, children learn how to:

We aim to provide leadership opportunities for children across the school, allowing them to discover their strengths, develop their confidence and understand the importance of responsibility and service to others.
