Governance
The Governing Body at The Drive Primary School plays a vital role in overseeing the strategic direction of the school and works in partnership with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to ensure continuous development and improvement. Its primary aim is to secure the highest possible standard of education and outcomes for all pupils.
The Governing Body fulfils this responsibility by reviewing and approving policies, setting strategic priorities and targets, and monitoring and evaluating the school's progress towards its aims and objectives.
The Governing Body has three core strategic functions:
- Setting the school's vision, values and strategic direction.
- Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, including the performance management of staff.
- Overseeing the school's financial performance and ensuring that resources are used effectively and provide value for money.
