History

History at The Drive Primary
We are beginning to use an enquiry approach to the learning of history. Each lesson will begin with an enquiry question linked to the time period being studied. Pupils will investigate, complete activities develop skills and aquire knowledge throughout the lesson. They will then use what they have learned to answer the enquiry question giving evidence to back up their answer or opinion.
We aim to bring the history period we study to life through trips, visitors, a variety of practical activites, drama or role play where appropriate, the use of artefacts and investigating the history of the local area. Evidence from each lesson is recorded in a subject floor book.
